The COSASCO®
Access Fitting Assembly and Tools:
The Rohrback Cosasco Systems RBSA Retriever
is a precision tool which allows safe, easy
insertion and removal of various equipment
and tools through a Rohrback Cosasco Systems
Access Fitting - while the pipeline or vessel
is under pressure. Used in conjunction with
a Rohrback Cosasco System Service Valve, the
tandem hook-up is designed to allow line working
pressure to slowly bleed pressure into the
retriever inner assembly as the plug assembly
moves off its seat in the Access Fitting Body.
The resulting balanced pressure allows easy
insertion and retrieval under full operating
pressures up to 2500 PSI (17.2 Mpa).
A single RBSA Retriever and Service Valve
can be used for any convenient number of Rohrback
Cosasco Systems Access monitoring points such
as in a refinery, producing field or platform

The worldwide standard for high pressure
access fitting systems and tools for "access
under pressure" up to 6,000 psi (41
Mpa) and 450° F (232° C). RCS can
provide access fittings for coupon or electronic
internal corrosion monitoring, chemical
injection and sampling as well as retrievers,
service valves and a full range of tools
for servicing the fittings.
The COSASCO® Access Fitting Assembly
is the key to the concept of "Access
under pressure - anytime, any place".
When used with a COSASCO® Retriever
and Service Valve, the Access Fitting Assembly
permits safe, easy insertion and retrieval
of corrosion and erosion monitoring systems
as well as preventive maintenance devices
for injecting inhibitors or for sampling,
etc. while under full operating pressure.
This is a corrosion resistant access fitting
with a Hastelloy C276 insert in a carbon
steel body. This is used for bottom of the
line access fittings to provide long life
in aggressive environments for improved
safety.
The mounting equipment comprises a 2"
fitting (the access fitting) and a carrier
plug assembly (the plug) into which a range
of monitoring probes or other devices may
be placed. Access fittings have an internal
1 3/4" 12 UNF parallel thread to receive
the plug. Below the thread is a taper shoulder
that mates with the packing element of the
plug. An external 3" ACME thread allows
installation of the service valve used in
making retrievals under pressure.

The COSASCO® Retractor is a lightweight
tool easily ans simply operated by one person.
It provides safe and controlled insertion
and retraction of probes, sensors and injection
devices at pressures up to 1,500 psi.
- Quick Mounting & Release
- Simple to Operate
- Lightweight
- 1500 PSI Working Pressure
- Convenient Carrying Case
- COSASCO® Proven Reliability

COSASCO® strip holders for the 2"
system are used to suspend either 3"
or 6" coupons in the area to be monitored.
Attached to the bottom of the solid plug
by means of a left-handed thread, the coupon
holder also serves as a primary packing
retainer.
The single tongue of the holder allows use
of one or two coupons, insulated or un-insulated.
COSASCO® coupon holders are available
in standard sizes from 2.12" to 36.00".
All holders are supplied with two sets of
mounting hardware, Part #123567. (Coupon
insulation is supplied with the coupons).
Any material and length can be supplied
on special order.
The COSASCO® Two inch Coupon Holder
Multiple Disc Coupon Monitoring is available
for pipes with internal diameters of 6"
or more and is one of several methods of
coupon monitoring offered by Rohrback Cosasco.
This configuration has the following particular
advantages:
- Inherent orientation parallel to flow
- Greater surface area at a specific level
- Greater quantity and variety of coupon
materials Permissible per fitting
- Easier monitoring in stratified or multi
phase flow
- Coupon location in recess area of access
fitting for Monitoring in gas pockets
or stagnant areas.
