The new MMPRD is a purpose built lightweight
portable drill
Weighing only 4.8 kg (10.5
lbs)
Powered by a quiet, easy
starting, powerful, reliable but lightweight
27cc two-stroke motor driving one of our
hard-wearing water lubricated diamond
tipped drill bits.
The lightweight motor develops
0.8kW (1.1 HP) and drives through a 2
speed gearbox giving optimal drilling
speeds of 910 or 2710 RPM .
The optimum drilling speed
for 1" diamond corers is about 2500
rpm in medium to soft rocks and about
1000 RPM for very hard rocks.
The MMPRD comes
complete with a pressurized water container
and quick release hose fittings.

compass is the MMPSC. A full field kit
comprising MMPRD, MMPSC, and
4 drill bits can be supplied
complete with portable field box.
Wide selections
of suitable diamond core bits up to 4"
in diameter are available at competitive
prices. Non-standard core bits can be
supplied at short notice.
One customer reports using
the same drill bit for 3 major collecting
trips (over 1000 cores) and it "still
had plenty of life left in it.
